Watercolour is such an exciting medium, I have been painting, exhibiting and teaching for over 25 years, but I still find every brushstroke fascinating and hope to pass this on to the people who come to paint with me.
I have developed my own wet-into-wet watercolour techniques to shape petals, capture shine on leaves, paint beautiful skies and add extra interest to every aspect of a painting.
I run my watercolour painting days in two inspirational places. The lovely Barnsdale Gardens, originally created by Geoff Hamilton for the BBC Gardener’s World programmes, full of many wonderful floral subjects and garden corners. Also, the impressive Burghley House, known as the largest and grandest house of the Elizabethan age. Here, the wonderful, striking aspects of the building and the enchanting old stone cottages in the Courtyard make ideal subjects for painting.
These classes are relaxed and informal with very informative demonstrations, useful tips and techniques.
